At the moment i’m (re)designing a home for a client who is a geologist by profession and that is why i am trying to incorporate as much natural stone, crystals and geodes in the design. As i was searching for inspiration i came across so many cool ideas and i wanted to share some of them with you, my dear readers.
Villa Tugendhat, Mies van der Rohe
Whenever i think of beautiful stone walls my mind travels to Mies van der Rohe and his beautiful Villa Tugendhat onyx wall. It’s partial translucency makes it change the apperance throughout the day and it really does look quite magnificent. Sure, we can spot statement stone walls in other examples of van der Rohe’s architecture but this one is by far my favourite.

I also tried to find some less ‘in your face’ ideas, just small details that could bring that certain something special to the space. I’m hoping the budget will allow me to do the whole bathroom in agathe or marble but i’ll settle for door knobs or book ends as well!
Table lamp with a geode stand and agathe door knob.
Beautiful stone clad bathroom.
Geode, used as book ends and another agathe door knob.
