A preview of ˝Preprosto˝ magazine

This year, August was a funny month; not only because of autumn-ish weather but also because i had to get myself into Christmas spirit. Why? I was approached by Lidl to design a vintage inspired holiday table setting for their corporate magazine.
After months of waiting to see the finished product i’m excited to tell you that the ˝Preprosto˝magazine will be available in Lidl stores from upcoming Monday on! For only 1.49€ you can get more than a hundred pages of unique recipes, mouthwatering photos, creative diy ideas, inspiring articles and even discount coupons! I think it’s important to mention that all of the content is authentic, created by over thirty creative Slovenian contributors and therefore includes zero generic photos and (badly) translated articles. Here i’m sharing just a little insight into my contribution but after having had the pleasure of flipping through the magazine i can promise you it’s totally worth getting your own copy!

For my ¨vintage¨ holiday table setting i decided on a combination of porcelain and crystal, golden backdrop, lace napkins and seasonal greenery. I stuck to the traditional white-red-green-gold color scheme since it’s the most traditional one. I believe mixing pieces from different eras is the best way of creating a unique and layered table setting so i mismatched the plates, cutlery and cups. For the centerpiece I used the ‘vintage cup candles‘ i  made last year and for the name cards i simply wrote the names on pieces of paper i tore out of an old book. It the finished look turned out pretty cute and the best part is that anyone can recreate it after raiding their grandmothers credenza 😉

Here, I would like to thank Tina Cipot from Lidl and Nenad Senič from Disput for giving me an opportunity to be a part of this great project!
